Approaches

The approach to Hundested Harbour are extremely optimal. The entrance to Hundested Marina is a 2-mile long and 27 feet deep sailing route. The harbour’s whirlpool is 1,148 feet in diameter. Larger ships can thus enter Hundested Marina safely and efficiently.

The 853 feet long Cruise Dock for bulk carriers and Cruise Ships is located south of the old port. Furthermore, there is a traffic harbour with bulk quay, two Ferry berths and the 1,050 feet long Dock with Ro / Ro ramps.

Location and Pools

Hundested Marina is located 55°57,9’N 11°50,7’E. The Port consists of an outer harbour, inner harbour, Fishing harbour, south harbour and the traffic harbour. Last mentioned with a water depth of 27 feet.

Power

In calm weather, the current changes regularly approx. every 6 hours between North and South current. North current can be detrimental to the outer harbour.

Harbour Pilot

The work of a pilot is to guide ships safely through the Danish waters. A pilot has special knowledge of the Danish waters, and can thus help the ship’s safely in and out of the harbour.

Hundested Marina is located in front of the peninsula Halsnaes at the entrance from Kattegat to Isefjord.

The shipping lane into the harbour is 2 miles long and with a water depth of 27 feet. It is easy to navigate to the quay both at the cruise quay and in the traffic harbour. The harbour can receive ships up to 755 feet in length and with a draft of 26 feet.

The pilot marked to navigate Hundested habour is located at position 56’11N / 12 ’03E.

For ships coming from the south in the Great Belt, the pilot can be taken at L / B 21 position 55’45,5N / 10’47,8E.

Compulsory Pilotage

Report Waste

All ships calling at Danish ports are obliged to deliver waste in accordance with Danish legislation. Exceptionally, ships in regular service, where a routine for waste management, and ships with only a small amount of waste, have been agreed, may be subject to exemption.

Reporting of waste must be notified 24 hours before the ship’s arrival.

ISPS

Hundested Harbour follows international legislation on securing shipping and port facilities. Therefore, access to the Traffic Harbour is controlled by fences and camera surveillance.

Only persons with a valid ID card issued by Hundested Harbour must stay at the secured facilities within the fences of the Traffic Harbour.

Individuals with a valid ID card even serve the gate via the counter scanner.

Other guests, suppliers, etc. for ships and companies at the port can be accessed by contacting via the “guard telephone”. If you have to go in and out several times the same day, or if the visit lasts longer than one day, you must contact the port office for approval, registration and delivery of a valid guest card.

Only persons with a valid ID card issued by Hundested Harbour must stay at the secured facilities within the fences of the Traffic Harbour.
